36th Annual Art Ambience Show & Sale
April 25th, April 26th, and April 27th, 2025
Creative Art Society held the 36th Art Ambience Show & Sale at Woodhaven Community Center. This yearly spring event features local Downriver artists. Free art demos were offered on Saturday, April 26th, from noon to 4 PM. The show ran from April 25th to 27th, displaying sculpture, paintings, ceramics, photography, and more. The exhibit opened Friday, April 25th, at 6 PM with a reception and music by Audra Baas.
Honorary Co-Chair and Juror: Amanda Koss
Amanda Koss is an artist and curator from Dearborn, Michigan, known for her abstract art using eco-friendly materials. She studied graphic design at Rochester College and worked in design roles before focusing on art. Amanda’s studio work uses recycled items like food waste, pigments, and cardboard. She has created large artworks for offices in Chicago and Detroit to promote environmental care and community support. As a curator, she has organized shows at various locations, including The Gallery at Brewery Park and Janice Charach Gallery. Recently, she teamed up with the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan to create inspiring art programs.
MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT
Audra Baas played music at the Art Ambience Opening Reception on April 25th. She is a trained pianist with a BFA in Music Performance from Albion College. After graduating, she spent nine years in New York City working in theater. There, she was a rehearsal pianist and pit musician for the Broadway show and national tour of "Grease." She also worked as a music director, accompanist, and arranger for many theater shows on and off Broadway.
In 2012, Audra returned to Michigan. In 2013, she became the Music Director at Woodhaven Bible Church. She also directs music and vocals for the Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center in Trenton and the Downriver Actors’ Guild in Wyandotte.
